This Privacy Policy explains how the website for Wanebound: A Vigil Beneath the Hollow Moon (the “Site”) handles your information. The Site is operated by the developer of Wanebound (“we”, “us”). We keep data collection to a minimum, and we do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

Information you give us. The only personal information we ask for is your email address, and only if you choose to join our mailing list. Submitting the signup form is optional.

Information collected automatically. Like almost all websites, our hosting provider records standard technical logs when you visit — for example your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested — to operate and secure the Site.

We do not currently use analytics or advertising trackers, and the Site does not set non-essential cookies.

How we use your information

  • To send you the development updates and news you asked for, if you joined the mailing list.
  • To operate, maintain, and secure the Site.

For the mailing list, our legal basis for processing is your consent, which you give by submitting the form and confirming your subscription. You can withdraw it at any time (see “Your choices” below).

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it except with the service providers that make the Site work:

  • Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — our email/newsletter provider. Your email address is stored and processed by Kit to manage the mailing list and send messages. See Kit’s privacy policy at kit.com/privacy.
  • Cloudflare — hosts the Site, provides its DNS, and forwards email sent to our @wanebound.com addresses. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

These providers are based in the United States and may process data there.

Email and your choices

  • Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link; you can opt out at any time, and we honor requests promptly.
  • We use confirmed (double) opt-in where enabled, so you’re only added after you confirm.
  • To access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or to withdraw consent, email [email protected] and we’ll take care of it.

Your rights

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or “share” your personal information, and you may request access to or deletion of the limited information we hold by contacting us.

Visitors in the EU/UK (GDPR): you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Our lawful basis for the mailing list is consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Data retention

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we remove it from active mailing lists promptly, subject to any records our providers retain to honor your opt-out.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We rely on reputable providers (Kit, Cloudflare) and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the project grows. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes may also be noted on the Site.
